Love God

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” – Deuteronomy 6:5

Loving God is the most important thing we can do! When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment, He answered:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” – Matthew 22:37

Loving God is more than just saying, “I love God.” It’s about showing that love in the way we live every day.

What Does It Mean to Love God?

•Putting Him first – We don’t let anything be more important than Him (Exodus 20:3).

•Talking to Him in prayer – Just like we talk to our best friends, we talk to God every day (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

•Listening to Him – We read and obey His Word, the Bible, because it helps us know Him better (Psalm 119:105).

•Worshiping Him – We praise God with our words, songs, and actions (Psalm 100:2).

•Loving others – When we love others, we are showing our love for God (1 John 4:7).

How Can Kids Love God?

Loving God is something kids can start doing now! Here are some ways they can live this out every day:

•Pray– Talking to God helps us grow closer to Him.

•Read or listen to Bible stories – The more we learn about God, the more we love Him.

•Sing worship songs – Music helps us praise God and remember His love.

•Be kind and honest – When we obey God’s commands, we show that we love Him.

•Say “thank you” to God – Gratitude shows we love and trust Him.

Loving God Prepares Us for the Future

Loving God now will help kids grow into strong followers of Jesus who will:

•Stand firm in their faith when they face challenges (1 Corinthians 16:13).

•Make wise choices that honor God (Proverbs 3:5-6).

•Shine God’s love in their schools, families, and friendships (Matthew 5:16).

•Stay connected to Jesus as they grow up (John 15:5).

God has an amazing plan for every child, and it starts with loving Him with all their heart!
