Each Sunday James Island Baptist Church (JIBC) welcomes hundreds of people, so our need for people to serve in our ministry teams is always growing. Serving our guest, community, and church family is an amazing opportunity for you to get involved. It is an opportunity for you to grow in relationship with one another and to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ!
MINISTRY TEAM LISTS
With many people coming through our doors every Sunday it is important that we have people smiling and ready to serve guest as they come in. The missions of the connections team is to make people feel welcome, whether that’s greeting someone as they walk through the doors, handing someone a bulletin, or making sure our guest know where to take their children.
includes nursery, preschool, and 1st thru 5th grade
One thing is for certain, that Christ loves children. We hear Jesus’ words in Luke 18 “Let the children come to me”. At JIBC we desire to show Christ’s love to our children through: teaching, fellowship, and worship. We set a high value on showing children the love of Christ. Anyone who wants to volunteer for our children's ministry must have a background check to ensure the safety of our children.
includes 3 yr. old thru 6th grade
We highly value teaching God's Word to our children here at JIBC. Every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm (except summer & holidays) children gather to learn bible verses, worship through song, and have tons of fun together. Anyone who wants to volunteer for AWANAS must have a background check to ensure the safety of our children.
Being a part of the worship team is about being a lead worshiper yourself. It’s about living a life of worship that leads people into the presence of God. On Sunday morning this team leads us into God’s presence through song. Anyone who is a gifted musician or vocalist and has a heart for worshiping the Lord is encouraged to join this team.
Includes middle school & high school
At JIBC we love students! Sojourn Student Ministry exists for youth 6th-12th grade to grow in their relationship with God and others. Our aim as a student ministry is to orient students to the Gospel through relevant but challenging teaching, close and meaningful relationships, as well as opportunities to serve others for the sake of Jesus Christ. Anyone who wants to volunteer for our student ministry must have a background check to ensure the safety of our students.
AUDIO VISUAL MINISTRY
Excellence is something we value highly at JIBC and that is what we strive for on this team. We are looking to create newer and better designs, and also video media that will make a Godly impact in people’s lives. If you are creative and would love to get involved with graphic design, video editing, web design and/or if you love mixing sound, than this is the team for you. We would love to have you!
God has laid it on our hearts to have a transitional home for women coming out of drug and alcohol addiction. We are always in need of supplies to help with the ladies living in the house.
People love to eat and that’s something we do well here at JIBC. Every Wednesday night (except summer) we gather in the fellowship to have a delicious meal prepared by our Kitchen Crew. They also help with different special events we have throughout the year. If you have a passion to cook or serve others, then please let us know and we’ll get you plugged in.
Here at JIBC we believe that prayer proceeds life-change. If you have a heart for prayer, then please come on by the library @ 6pm on Sundays to join our prayer team. This team prays for our church family, up-coming events, and anything else that God puts on their hearts.
OTHER WAYS TO SERVE
