Neale Young, Ministry Assistant

Family:  I grew up here on James Island and have attended James Island Baptist Church since 1972.  I've been on staff here since 1997.  I married my high-school sweetheart, Darryl, on September 27, 2003.

Greatest Influence:  My parents have been a tremendous influence in my life.  I am blessed to have been raised in a Christian home with parents who loved me unconditionally.  One of the major influences in my Christian walk is author & speaker, Beth Moore.  The first Bible study I did "with" her was "Breaking Free."  That was a life-changing event for me!

Favorite Books:  I am a avid reader!  Two of my favorite Christian fiction authors are Karen Kingsbury and Angela Hunt.  I love a good mystery, too.  Mary Higgins Clark is one of my favorite mystery writers.

Favorite Music/Musician:  My MP3 player has a wide variety of music on it!  I've got Christian artists Mercy Me, Third Day, Chris Tomlin and Lincoln Brewster, just to name a few.  But you'll also find me listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, and classic rock from the 70's!

Relaxation:  I love to read in my spare time.  I have to admit, I'm a HUGE fan of Survivor and The Amazing Race!  My parents and sister (and her 3 children) live in Florence, SC.  Once a month you can find me there, cheering one of the kids on in softball, baseball, basketball or cross-country running!
